Gay & LGBTQ+ Inclusive Personal Trainer in North London,
1-2-1 Personal Training in Arnos Grove or Online

Hi, I’m Marios. I’m a gay personal trainer based in North London.
If you’ve never quite felt at home in a gym, a PE class back in school, or a changing room, my personal training space is just for you.
School PE was not a happy place for me, I really dreaded it.
I was never someone who felt comfortable in that environment.
I have so many of those 'locker room energy' memories, the constant low-level performance of masculinity, the sense that you had to hide a part of yourself just to get through the lesson without being singled out.
Unfortunately, that feeling didn’t disappear when I left school. It followed me straight into my adult years - and into gyms.
The Personal Trainer Who Doesn't Like The Gym
As an adult, even once I’d become a personal trainer, I still felt it! The gym-bro culture, the mirrors and the conversations I didn’t want to be part of, but went along with anyway.
I’d walk into a gym and feel myself shrink a little, calculate how to move through the space without drawing attention.
I spent many years personal training other people for a living, in spaces I personally really did not want to be in.
That’s exactly why I stopped training in gyms. I am the personal trainer who doesn't like gyms.
I didn’t want to keep inviting people, especially LGBTQ+ clients into environments that I knew, from the inside, were exhausting to navigate. Even so, I am proud that I've been personal training the LGBTQ+ community for 17 years, that the gym experience for myself and my clients could be made more positive and enjoyable, because it has been a shared experience.
I wanted to build something different, outside of the typical gym space - a private personal training service where nobody has to perform, edit themselves, or feel watched.
So that’s what I did.
My one-to-one studio in Arnos Grove, North London, is a small, calm, private space. No memberships. No crowds. No clanking plates, no blaring music, no eyes on you. Me, you, and the work on your health and fitness goals.
What an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly personal trainer actually looks like in practice
For a lot of gay men and LGBTQ+ clients I work with, this isn’t really about rainbow flags on a website, it’s about whether they can talk freely.
Whether they can mention a partner, a relationship, a health concern, a body image issue, without it becoming a moment. Whether the trainer across from them really understands.
In our sessions, I hope you can:
-
Ask questions you’d not normally feel comfortable asking,
-
Talk openly about your life, your relationships, your health as all of it relevant to health, well-being & fitness.
-
Make mistakes with exercises without an audience
-
Set the pace and the conversation as you feel comfortable

There's no “gym bro” culture here. I’m interested in helping you get strong, feel better in your body, and to enjoy the process.
Being a gay personal trainer in North London means a lot of my clients come to me specifically because they want someone who has experienced similar challenges to them.
I know what it’s like to walk into a gym and be with certain people and feel like an outsider.
That is why my personal training style exists the way it does - inclusive, calm, private & judgement-free.
I also want to briefly talk about body image in the gay community
I don’t train people to chase an “ideal”, but I understand that it's an age old trap.
A lot of gay men carry a very specific kind of body image pressure, typically the lean-but-muscular, gym-honed look that gets held up as the standard on apps such as Grindr, on Instagram, and often within gay social spaces themselves.
It’s something I’ve felt myself, and it’s something I see in a lot of the men who come to train with me where a sense that their worth, attractiveness, or belonging is tied to how closely they match a body type that’s been sold to them as the gay “ideal.”
My job isn’t to help you chase a look that was never really about health in the first place, it’s to support you to build strength, energy, and a body that works well for the life you want. And, yes, that specific body type may well be part of the package - but its not everything.
Personal Training sessions are available in-person at my Arnos Grove studio (a few minutes from Arnos Grove tube station) or online.
